If you want a sophisticated, fun-to-drive sedan that is also a Top Safety Pick, you can stop shopping with the 2019 Mazda6. This summer, it was added to the list of Mazda Top Safety Pick vehicles thanks to its good crash test results.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) tests most new cars each year to determine how well they perform in a variety of crash tests. The Mazda6 earned the top “good” rating in all of its crash tests. It also earned a “superior” rating for its front crash prevention technology that comes standard on all models.
“Mazda designs its vehicles with the driver in mind. Taking an active approach to safety gives the driver more peace of mind, which makes driving more fun,” said Mazda President Jeff Guyton. “Confident driving is better driving, and the updates to the 2019 Mazda6 show Mazda’s commitment to providing our customers with advanced safety technologies.”
To get the Mazda6 model that earned this accolade, you need to choose the available curve-adaptive LED projector headlights. These headlights earned an “acceptable” rating from the IIHS. Another safety accolade is the “good+” rating for how easy it is to use the LATCH system in the Mazda6. This will be a welcome feature for any drivers who regularly drive with young children in safety seats.
